38 Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance. 39 “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.”40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in grave clothes, his face wrapped in a head cloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”
Terrie's Comments:The results of Jesus directing his anger in the right direction was Lazarus was raised from the dead. Anger is a strong and powerful emotion. If it is pointed in the wrong direction we will come to the wrong conclusions in life and do much damage. If it is pointed in the right direction it gives us power, drive, motivation and follow through to take back territory that the enemy has stolen illegally. We have all authority to take back what Satan has stolen from us... We need to begin to realize that the name of JESUS is as powerful as the devil and demons knows it is.
Tori's Comments:
IF you believe. Over and over, we see Jesus telling people that if they would just have faith... they would be amazed at the result! This is still a problem faced by Christians today, even though we have seen the rest of John's story.
