46 When Jesus and his disciples had passed through Jericho, a large crowd joined them. Upon leaving the village, they met a blind beggar sitting on the side of the road named Timai, the son of Timai. 47 When he heard that Jesus from Nazareth was passing by, he began to shout “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me now in my affliction. Heal me!”
48 Those in the crowd were indignant and scolded him for making so much of a disturbance, but he kept shouting with all his might, “Son of David, have mercy on me now and heal me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him to come to me.” So they went to the blind man and said, “Have courage! Get up! Jesus is calling for you!” 50 So he threw off his beggars’ cloak, jumped up, and made his way to Jesus.
51 Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The man replied, “My Master, please, let me see again!”
52 Jesus responded, “Your faith heals you. Go in peace, with your sight restored.” All at once, the man’s eyes opened and he could see again, and he began at once to follow Jesus, walking down the road with him.

"he threw off his beggars' cloak, jumped up, and made his way to Jesus"... This was an act that showed his faith. He was calling to Jesus and the moment Jesus responded he threw off his beggars' cloak and left it behind. He was ready to exchange is life of begging to a new life of following Jesus Christ and his faith in Jesus Christ healed him :-) Are we willing to leave our old identity and step into a new identity following Jesus Christ? What is holding you back from fully surrendering to our freedom?
Romans 8:4-6 talks about this freedom
4 So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living his life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit!
5 Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities. 6 For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.

This man had faith, and His story moves me by just how public he was about it.
He KNEW Jesus was the answer. And because of that knowing, he didn't care what anyone else thought. He shouted Jesus's name when He knew His presence was near. He shouted His name despite others' complaints. He shouted His name "with all his might", begging God to heal Him.
And Jesus heard him.
May I never fear to shout out Jesus's name in faith, and cry out to the one who is my answer, no matter what the world thinks.
