This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News. 2 God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. 3 The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, 4 and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
6 And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. 7 I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people.
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

For HIS name's sake. I have to remind myself that, yes, Jesus loves me, and yes, that completely blows my tiny human mind, but also that I can't just stay stagnant in this love. Love is a verb. So Jesus absolutly, completely, wholly loves me, no question about it.
The real question is: What am I going to do about that love?
That's my job as an ambassador. Go love people and to call people into a relationship with Christ. To set an example.
I also want to make a note on how he calls Christians saints in verse 7. She grew up Catholic with all the patron saints and etc. We have recently been going through a book of the Bible together, and out of the blue she said, "This may sound silly, but I want to be a saint."
And my heart exploded because I knew just what to say! I read her the Bible verse and God officially blew HER mind too.
Even still, I find amazing that Jesus cleanses us so well that God can look at us and see saints.
All because of Jesus!!!
I'm so excited to continue in Romans!!

Romans is a letter written by Paul, he considered himself enslaved to Christ and chosen by God. He knew his mission was to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ specifically to the Gentiles (non-Jews).
It was impressed upon me long ago that Jesus completed what he set out to do the moment he died on the cross... the veil that separated us and God was torn and we had unlimited access to God our Father. So then why did he have to rise from the grave if everything was already paid for? In verse 4 of today's passage we are given a clue... He was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am so glad we got that cleared up in my thinking... at least in part :-)
We are loved by God and are called to be HIS OWN HOLY PEOPLE! I am more than willing to accept the grace and peace that comes from God. Amen :-)
This is an awesome beginning to a letter!

Please keep all comments respectful. We want to remember that each of us is at a different place in our walk with God. This is a place for us to share openly about what has been revealed to us as we open up Gods word and to learn from others. Please take every opportunity possible to build each other up in love :-)
