Day 52 - 1 Corinthians 15:53-58

53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is your victory?

O death, where is your sting?”

56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Terrie's Comments:

I love that death is defeated and we will never die.  I am glad that our victory over sin and death is through our LORD Jesus Christ.  If Jesus is our LORD then we will have that victory over death.

I love the last part... a great reminder for me... Be strong and immovable.  Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Sometimes when you are working in ministry of any kind you can feel like it is useless... nothing is working, no one is noticing, it isn't making any difference at all... These are all LIES!  The truth of the matter is that ANYTHING we do for the Lord is not useless, which means everything we do for the Lord is useful even when we don't see how it could be.

Tori's Comments:

We are victorious! WE have already won! Woohoo!

"be strong and immovable" this is easier the more you remind yourself of this truth.

"nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless" this is a lie I actually have heard. That something I feel led to do is silly or pointless. I now know exactly how to battle those thoughts..with this verse!
