Day 15 - Ephesians 5:15-24

15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

Tori's Comments:

This emphasizes the mission aspect of Christianity. What is that mission? To go to the ends of the earth making, baptizing, and teaching disciples. Every word and action should contribute to the Kingdom of God.

Another thing that sticks out to me is that we should be constantly singing and praising God. Can't say no to that :)

Terrie's Comments:

I have heard it said that we don't know what the Lord wants us to do with our lives or what his will is for us.

The Bible tells us to not act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do.  This must mean that we can know what Jesus wants us to do if we think about what we are doing.  Be filled with the Holy Spirit... singing among ourselves and in our hearts giving thanks for everything to God in the name of Jesus.

We also should put others before ourselves, Just as Jesus put us before himself when he was crucified.

If we are wise we will follow the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives... if we are foolish we will live for our own selfish desires and the world's pleasures.  We have a choice everyday.

Please keep all comments respectful. We want to remember that each of us is at a different place in our walk with God. This is a place for us to share openly about what has been revealed to us as we open up Gods word and to learn from others. Please take every opportunity possible to build each other up in love :-)
